Best Way To Build Muscle – My Experiment
Supplements can play an important role in muscle building; the key is to use the right ones! The truth is a lot of the so called ‘muscle building’ supplements out there will do nothing for you apart from cost you money. The best way to build muscle is a good routine, a good diet and a good supplement. After hearing a lot of hype about Xtreme NO I thought it was about time to find out the truth and see whether or not this supplement is really as good as people say. I decided to make this into a bit of an experiment and find myself a human guinea pig to test this out on, I have a client (Bret) who has been training with me for the past month, he has made some ok gains but he is lacking any real mass and he wants to move it to the next level, so I decided to see if Xtreme NO was capable of it!
Firstly I’ll give you some details on exactly what Xtreme NO is, the NO stands for Nitric Oxide. Essentially the formula of L-Arginine amino acids help to increase the levels of Nitric Oxide in the body, by doing this it enables your muscles to utilize the extra oxygen and increase performance. What you will basically end up with is:
- More oxygen to the muscles which will mean you will not tire as fast when doing your sets, this means you should be able to push out those extra few reps you never normally would.
- The extra oxygen also means an increase in strength and therefore allows you to move heavier weights.
- More reps and heavier weight equal one thing: bigger and stronger muscles.
It was time to test the above theories and see how true they were. I ordered a free trial of Xtreme NO which gave me enough of the supplement to do a 4 week test with Bret, I made sure he took Xtreme NO once in the morning and once half an hour before each workout, I had him on a full body routine three times a week. On his off day’s he also took it twice a day, religiously for four weeks! Here were Bret’s stats before the experiment with Xtreme NO:
Weight: 170lbs
Bench Press: 155lbs
Squat: 170lbs
Deadlift: 195lbs
I have detailed his week to week progress below.
Week 1 – My three times a week workout for Bret focused on compound movements; it was nice and simple but VERY effective and is the kind of program I use on a lot of clients when they are first starting out. Bret seemed a lot more energetic and enthusiastic this week and I could already notice the difference in some of his lifts, his bench press seemed easy for him and I had to add 10lbs on to compensate. The other thing I noticed was that after his workouts he didn’t seem as exhausted as normal and he was ready for more! At this point though I am keeping his workout as it is.
Week 2 – This was a good week for Bret, each day he turned up raring to go and full of energy, I increased the weight on his core lifts and he managed his normal three sets of 10 with the increased weight with room for a bit more! He also commented that he felt a much better ‘pump’ to his muscles while lifting; this is most likely the extra oxygen being rushed to his muscles from taking Xtreme NO.
Week 3 – Bret is going from strength to strength and the physical gains he has made over the past few weeks are definitely becoming apparent. Once again his numbers have rose and his energy levels are still very high, I have added a bit more intensity to Bret’s workouts to compensate so that I can make the most out of the Xtreme NO trial.
Week 4 – Time to set some new personal records! Bret was very excited this week as was I, it is looking like he is going to crush his old personal records for his major lifts, and the muscle mass he has packed on is a very positive result indeed. Let’s take a look at his finishing stats at the end of week 4:
Weight: 188lbs
Bench Press: 210lbs
Squat: 230lbs
Deadlift: 280lbs
And now for the before and after pictures:
As you can see the results were nothing short of excellent! Even with the beginnings of a sun tan in the second shot, you can still see the size and definition gains, not only that but Bret’s personal records were increased by a very nice amount! He was particularly impressed with his deadlift which was a massive increase. Whilst beginners will experience good strength gains to begin with I’ve never come across an instance like this before. It seems that Xtreme NO did exactly what it said it would, and the strength and size gains are definitely clear evidence of this.
I am now planning on using Xtreme NO for a couple of my other clients to really give them the edge and further their gains even more. I highly recommend this stuff to anyone who is serious about their weight lifting efforts, whether you are a beginner or advanced I have no doubt that Xtreme NO can take your weight lifting to the next level. You can get yourself a free trial and give Xtreme NO a try without any risk.
